Hello from Wisconsin State Referee Committee Chairman, Dmitar "Mich" Jovic

Happy New Year to everyone,

As many of you already know I was appointed to the position of Wisconsin State Referee Committee Chairman by the President of the Wisconsin Soccer Association and approved by the the majority of the WSA Board members. The documents have gone through the proper USSF laws and procedures. They have been sent to the USSF office in Chicago and I have already received communication from Paul Tamberino, USSF Director of Referee Development, and Al Kleinaitis USSF Manager of Referee Development and Education, and I am ready to start the duties of my position.

I want to thank everyone who helped to select my name for the position of Wisconsin State Referee Chairman and I will dedicate myself to guiding the State of Wisconsin Referees, Instructors, Assignors and Assessors to achieve their personal goals while also making sure that we service the game of soccer at every level in a professional and ethical manner.

I will work with all levels of our committee to provide the tools needed to help them meet their goals, duties and ambitions whenever possible. I will also work with all areas of our soccer community to meet their needs in game scheduling and providing a solid well developed Referee crew for every game in a safe environment. We all know how the weather, individual club needs, State and national schedules and our own individual needs can affect our program and my office will be open to meet necessary changes.

One of my top priorities will be to help develop our Referees all over Wisconsin and to assure them an equal opportunity to meet their individual ambitions with up to date and informative instructional clinics, well educated Assessors from Wisconsin and the national pool and with some challenging games. All Referees in the state will be available to all Assignors.

I want to assure everyone that all Referee, Assessor and Assignor clinics will continue as scheduled. I am instructing all clinic administrators that all checks used by referees, Assignors and Assessors for registration must be made out to the "State Referee Committee" and accompany the registration forms. All registration materials and money must be sent to the:

Wisconsin Soccer Association
10708 W. Hayes Avenue
West Allis, WI 53227

in care of the State Referee Committee. Your cooperation will ensure the smooth process needed to make sure that national registration time lines are achieved and all referees, Instructors, Assignors and Assessors get their USSF certification credentials.

U.S. Soccer Futsal Referee Training Event

U.S. Soccer Futsal Referee Training Event

U.S. Soccer, in conjunction with the Super F Champions Cup, is holding a Futsal Referee Training Event in Kansas City on February 12-14, 2010.

This event is open to all interested State Administrators, Instructors, Assessors and Referees who wish to attend. With the current explosive growth and development of the futsal game within the U.S., this event should be of interest to all states that have futsal leagues, or anticipate its growth within their state program.

Who should attend this clinic? For referees who are interested in the Futsal career path, this would be a good opportunity to gain valuable experience and meet the requirements for certification or recertification. Referee Administrators, Assessors and Instructors who expect to prepare referees in their state to officiate futsal games will find this an exceptional opportunity to be brought up to date on law application and training materials for futsal clinics. In addition to clinic presentations and field sessions, attending futsal referees that give the assignor sufficient notice can be assigned to work futsal games during this large tournament. Immediate post-game feedback and mentoring will be provided by U.S. Soccer instructors.

Instructors for this event:

Jason Krnac – FIFA Futsal Referee 2010 and FIFA Futsal World Cup Referee 2008
Shane Butler – FIFA Futsal Referee 2010
Jeff Kollmeyer – National Instructor Trainer 2010

Deadline for application is February 1, 2010. Please contact Mich Jovich, State Referee Committee Chairman.
